Like the previous iterations of the Renault Duster Adventure Edition, the latest one, based on the Duster facelift launched earlier this year, has a couple of things to differentiate itself from the regular version. Priced at Rs 9.64 lakh onwards, it’s mechanically identical to the Duster, and the changes are confined to the aesthetics alone.
But that’s not a bad thing, considering that, with an updated front-end styling (thanks to the integrated guard), prominent body cladding, black grille, mustard yellow finish for the roof-rails and skid plate, the Duster Adventure Edition looks more distinct. It’s available in four paint choices including a new Outback Bronze colour, and also gets compass body graphics.
On the inside, Renault has opted to continue with the rugged approach, infested with denim — you get it on the seat-covers and floor mats. The two-tone dashboard also gets black bits (for the centre console and door pads), and yellow accents to keep it all lively.
The Duster Adventure Edition is limited to the regular 85PS diesel and 110PS AWD versions, both powered by a 1.5-litre diesel engine. You cannot get it in the 2WD MT or AMT-equipped versions of the more powerful (110PS) Duster. Same goes for the petrol-powered version.
There’s also a new SmartDrive app available exclusively to the special edition. You can sync it with your vehicle and use its features like Digital Speedo, Trip Manager, Speeding Alerts, Document Holder, and even Renault Helpline. It’s beyond us why the app also boasts a Time Trial and a Lap Timer.
Available in three trims: RxE, RxL, and RxZ, it gets ABS standard. The top-end RxZ (available in the AWD avatar only) gets both driver and passenger airbags, the RxL comes with a driver airbag, while the RxE gets nothing. As mentioned earlier, prices start at Rs 9,64,575 for the RxE, 10,45,215 for RxL, and 13,77,855 for the RxZ. In comparison to the regular version, that’s an increase by just Rs 10,000. Considering you get exclusivity and distinct styling, that’s not a bad deal at all!
