With rivals offering their quarter-litre bikes, Suzuki’s absence was more than evident. All that’s resolved, as the company showcases its new 250 cc line-up at the ongoing Eicma 2016. No prizes for guessing, there’s an adventure tourer ‘Strom’ alongside a fully faired GSX250R.
Did the Inazuma leave you feeling a bit, er, shortchanged? Well, looking at the early press photos and specs, they are going to offer more than the short-lived (in the Indian market, at least) Inazuma.
Both bikes use a 248 cc parallel twin that makes 24.6 bhp at 8,000 rpm and 2.38 kgm at 6,500 rpm. The GSX250R is Euro 4 compliant, gets a full fairing, clip-on handlebars, and a new two-into-one exhaust. The V-Strom, on the other hand, benefits from more adventure-orientated styling, ability to use side cases like on the larger engined versions, and also gets a yellow colour choice, as a homage to Suzuki’s very own DR-K Dakar racer. Needless to say, the GSX250R also gets the iconic Suzuki blue livery.
