The all-new Suzuki Ertiga has been showcased at the Indonesia International Motor Show ahead of its expected launch in India. The MPV is now longer and wider than before, features an all-new exterior design, and doesn’t exactly come with an old interior, either. That’s a win-win, then, for everyone who’s been waiting for it.
For the Indonesian market, the Ertiga comes with a new 1.5-litre petrol engine. Called the K15B, it makes 103 PS@6000 rpm and 14 Nm@4400 rpm. This replaces the 1.4-litre unit which is available on both the Ciaz and Ertiga. Suzuki’s website doesn’t mention of an SHVS unit available with the engine yet. Gearbox choices for the market include a 4-speed AT and a 5-speed manual.
In terms of dimensions, the new Ertiga is 4395 mm long, 1735 mm wide, and 1690 mm tall. The wheelbase is 2740 mm — unchanged from the current car — and it still offers a seating capacity for seven. Other bits that Suzuki offers on the vehicle include new projector headlamps, 15-inch alloys, LED combination lamps, seven paint choices, dual airbags, ISOFIX, and the usual driver aids (ESP, ABS, and EBD). The boot space, as mentioned by Suzuki Indonesia, is 153 litres but can be increased to 803 litres.
