It would appear Royal Enfield isn’t at all satisfied with the leaps of progress its already made. Like it hasn’t already done enough for 2018 with the 650 twins; its now gone and gotten hearts racing again with the KX Bobber concept that’s just dripping with everything from unwavering nostalgia to futuristic design sophistication.

Royal Enfield stunned the world in Milan by unveiling this Concept KX bobber – a modern re-imagining of a 1930s Royal Enfield model. They say the project was started to show the talents of their design team who developed the whole bike in a mere six months from scratch. The original KX was an air-cooled, side-valve v-twin with a monstrous 1140cc displacement. This new bike’s engine however, appears to be a little bit smaller if the ‘838’ engine badge is anything to go by.

The KX Bobber concept showcases a modern swooping girder fork with integrated headlight and nacelle that’s just perfect for reminiscing about a front end from a proper classic machine. The pancake style exhaust, single seat unit and flat tank also faithfully modernise the original KX, while Enfield’s job of hiding all the electronics is commendable. Even the airbox is part of the frame, with the engine taking the stain as a stressed member. In what is believed to be a world first, the Concept KX also has a single-sided softail rear-end.

Truth be told, we’re already mighty impressed with how the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 have turned out. We’ll be waiting with baited breath for the Bobber to become reality Royal Enfield, we will.
