MG Motor India released a teaser highlighting the new Hector SUV’s sharp appearance. The argyle-inspired diamond mesh grille presents a bold, commanding, and powerful stance to the Hector. The bold design of the grille is framed to connect with the signature DRLs, further amplifying its commanding presence.
The exterior of the next-gen Hector is also in harmony with its interior, conceptualized to offer a cinematic and immersive experience, complemented by a large 14-inch HD portrait infotainment screen. It is expected to be packed with the Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) with features like Lane Assistance, Blind Spot Detection, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Forward Collision Warning and Lane Departure Warning.
As far as the powertrains are concerned, MG Motor is likely to keep things unchanged under the hood. The 2022 Hector will be powered by the same 2.0-litre diesel engine that generates 168 bhp. Another option is the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine that churns out 141 bhp of power and 25.4 kgm of peak torque. MG Motor is also expected to carry forward the 1.5-litre mild-hybrid unit in the new generation Hector SUV.
Scheduled to be launched by the end of 2022, the next-gen Hector will be sold alongside the existing Hector. It will go against the likes of Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Toyota Urban Cruiser HyRyder and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara.
