Expanding its range of products in India, Ducati has launched the Streetfighter V2 at Rs 17.25 lakh (ex-showroom). While the aesthetics and visual cues are borrowed from the Streetfighter V4, the engine and other mechanicals are identical to what is found on the Ducati Panigale V2.
The Streetfighter V2’s 955cc Superquadro twin cylinder engine produces 150 bhp and 10.29 kgm of peak torque. It gets a 6-speed transmission unit with Ducati Quick Shift Up/Down EVO 2 system. It also comes combined with a wet clutch, with an anti-hopping and progressive servo system. This system allows limited slippage upon application of braking torque.
The suspension setup includes a 43-mm Showa BPF front fork, fully-adjustable in compression and rebound damping and spring preload. A progressive link moved by a single-arm cast in aluminium operates the fully-adjustable Sachs rear shock absorber. The side-mounted shock absorber allows quick access to all adjustments. The motorcycle also features a Sachs steering damper.
‘The Ducati Streetfighter V2 is the new gateway to our sports naked family, perfectly amalgamating the Fight formula of the bigger Streetfighter V4 with the mechanics inherited from the more track-focused Panigale V2. The Streetfighter V2 is fun, feisty, and the perfect street and track tool for a Ducatisti with cutting-edge electronics and an intuitive and easy-to-ride setup, built to guarantee oodles of fun whether on the street or the track. We couldn’t be more delighted to introduce it in India, and I’m looking forward to seeing the Streetfighter family grow in India,’ said Bipul Chandra, Managing Director, Ducati India.
The Streetfighter V2 is available in Ducati Red with black rims and bookings are now open across all Ducati dealerships. Ducati will also begin deliveries of the motorcycle immediately.
