Kawasaki has pulled the wraps off its latest mid-displacement weapons — the Ninja 500 and the Z 500 at the EICMA 2023. These are all-new products and replacements to the Ninja 400 and the Z 400.
The Kawasaki Ninja 500 and the Z 500 are powered by a new 451cc liquid-cooled twin-cylinder engine. Though Team Green has not revealed the performance figures yet, the bikes are A2 licence-compliant. So, the power output won’t be above 47 bhp.
Both the bikes get trellis frame, telescopic fork and monoshock suspension setup, box-section swingarm and single discs at both ends. On the standard variants, Kawasaki is offering an LCD console, however, with the special SE versions, there’s Bluetooth-enabled TFT display, USB-C charging port and keyless ignition.
The Kawasaki Ninja 500 looks identical to the rest of the Ninja family with its dual LED headlights, sporty design and the sharp tail light. However, the Z 500 is unlike any member of Kawasaki’s streetfighter family. It doesn’t feature the sinister-looking twin headlight setup and instead gets brow-style DRLs with a single projector light.
The Kawasaki 500 twins are likely to grace the Indian shores next year considering that the Ninja 400 is already on sale. Though unlikely, we would love to see these Kwackers come in with a slightly affordable price tag.
