The Creta has been Hyundai’s SUV-equivalent of the Santro and the i10, becoming immensely successful for the Korean car maker right from its inception. Having been around for nine years, the Hyundai Creta has rightfully been ruling the mid-size segment, and has only recently begun to face some heat from its competitors. Enter the 2024 Hyundai Creta with not just updated looks, but also with plenty of additions to its equipment list, and a new turbo-petrol engine shared with the new Verna and the Kia Seltos.
Prices for the 2024 Hyundai Creta begin from Rs 10.99 lakh (ex-showroom), going all the way up to Rs 17.23 lakh (all prices ex-showroom). The automatic transmission variants can be had from Rs 12.60 lakh onwards, while the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and 1.5-litre diesel begin from Rs 13.01 lakh.
The 2024 Creta has been given a design treatment that aligns it with the other Hyundai SUVs in the lineup. The car maker’s parametric grille now makes an appearance here, along with new quad-headlights, and the DRLs are connected via an LED light bar. The rear has also been completely restyled with new tail lamps connected via an LED strip on the tailgate, while the profile remains unchanged, save for new alloy rims.
The interiors have been redone in order to meet customer expectations. The 2024 Creta now gets a blended screen setup for the infotainment and the instrument cluster. The 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen has been angled slightly towards the driver, while the instrument cluster has been lifted off of the Alcazar. However, the lower-spec variants will make do with an 8-inch infotainment system. The front seats receive ventilation, and the driver seat now receives eight-level electronic adjustability. There is also a magnetic pad at the cockpit which allows you to keep your phone in view at all times; useful if you’re using navigation. Also on offer are other features such as dual-zone climate control, a cooled glovebox, in-built third party music streaming, eight-speaker Bose sound system, three driving modes, and traction control modes among many others.
The 2024 Creta also comes with a level two ADAS suite, consisting of nineteen safety features such as forward collision warning, blind spot view monitor and collision assist, lane keeping assist, lane departure warning, driver attention warning, adaptive cruise control, and high-beam assist among others.
Under the hood, the new Hyundai Creta retains the 1.5-litre non-turbo petrol and the 1.5-litre diesel, offering both manual and automatic transmission options. However, it now also gets the new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol powertrain with 157 bhp and 25.8 kgm of torque, offered only with 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
