The Hyundai Ioniq 5 has received a facelift globally, receiving several upgrades in terms of performance, battery, slight design tweaks, and feature additions as well.
The facelifted Ioniq 5 receives a larger battery pack compared to its predecessor, now at 84 kWh compared to the 77.4 kWh. For reference, the India-spec IONIQ 5 is backed by a 72.6 kWh battery pack with a claimed range of about 631 km. Claimed power outputs stand at 214bhp and a peak torque of 35 kgm.
It also features stronger, reinforced B-pillars to improve side collision protection and will feature a total of 8 airbags. The EV also receives ADAS features which include lane-keep assist level 2, remote smart parking assist level 2, hands-on wheel detection and parking collision assist on all four sides.
With the safety improvements in mind, the chassis also receives an upgrade to reduce motor noise. The new chassis is stronger than before and has added sound insulation for the rear wheel motor.
Speaking of the rear wheel, the car will have updated shock absorbers for a better riding experience and less vibrations on the steering wheel. The overall chassis improvement is for stability and handling purposes.
The interiors of the SUV receive an update with physical buttons for the new front-row ventilated seats, and a heated steering wheel, which also feature pixel lights and parking assist features.
An upgraded infotainment system with Hyundai’s latest navigation cockpit makes its way here. The updated edition will include quick settings, home screen customization, split-screen step up and other community features with easier accessibility.
The central dashboard now features hotkeys to use the features of the infotainment and car features. It also gets an integrated dashcam unit and rear cam unit, automatic rear folding seats and dual-zone climate control in addition to the old variant.
