Aston Martin has been in the news lately for various reasons, but this time it’s about updating the madder version, or rather now the only version of its SUV. The British car maker has now discontinued the standard DBX, now offering its SUV in just the top-spec DBX 707.
What are the changes, you ask? The interiors of the DBX 707 have been completely revamped, following the new design language seen on the DB12 and the Vantage. The 12.3-inch instrument cluster and the 10.25-inch infotainment touch screen are all-new and feature an in-house developed UI unlike the previous units made by Mercedes-Benz. However, Aston Martin has retained physical buttons for functions such as suspension, ESP and exhaust, lane keep assist and parking assist. While the 14-speaker sound system is offered as standard, Aston Martin also gives you the option of a 23-speaker sound system by Bowers & Wilkins.
On the outside, the 2024 Aston Martin DBX 707 gets the new ‘Wings’ badging, and there are five new paint schemes on offer; Epsilon Black, Helios Yellow, Sprint Green, Malachite Green, and Aura Green. There’s also the addition of a new Podium Green paint scheme, first seen on the DBX707 AMR23 Edition. The 23-inch forged alloy rims can also be opted with a new Copper Bronze finish, while the same size cast-alloy rims receive a new Satin Black paint option.
While retaining the fire-breathing V8 with 697 bhp and 90 kgm of torque under the hood, Aston Martin has re-calibrated the electronic dampers and air springs. Production and global deliveries are scheduled to begin from the second quarter of 2024. Whether or not Aston Martin brings it to India remains to be seen. However, given the SUV craze we have here, we don’t see why the British car maker wouldn’t take that chance again.
