Now this is something that may or may not change people’s impressions of the 2024 Force Gurkha; its pricing! The three-door 2024 Gurkha comes in at Rs 16.75 lakh (ex-showroom), which is Rs 1.65 lakh more than its predecessor. Meanwhile the five-door Gurkha can be had from Rs 18.00 lakh onwards (ex-showroom), which is interesting because this is where the Mahindra XUV700, Scorpio N, Tata Safari, Harrier, as well as the higher variants of the Hyundai Creta play ball.
The 2024 Force Gurkha, both in its three-door, and five-door guises keeps things simple, and retains that iconic G-Wagen design. While the five-door may generate more interest at the moment, something tells us that the three-door, to paraphrase Shania Twain, is ‘still the one they’ll run to’. The three-door simply looks badass, to put it straight.
The biggest change has taken place under the hood; the 2.6-litre mill now produces 138 bhp and 32.63 kgm of torque, and there’s only a five-speed manual transmission to pair it up with. What does this power bump result in? You can find out here.
The two cars share the same interior, featuring a 9-inch touch screen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with a digital instrument cluster, a tyre pressure monitoring system, manual differential locks, cornering lights, follow-me headlamps, tilt and telescopic adjustable steering wheel, and an air-intake snorkel among other things.
Speaking of capabilities, the 2024 Gurkha gets 700 mm of water wading depth, 233mm of ground clearance, 35-degree gradeability, 39mm approach angle, 37mm departure angle and 28mm ramp over angle. Time to get your cheque books out, then?
