An average S-Class buyer, well, let’s just say is not average at all; they’ve achieved immense success in life, and their lives revolve around luxury, sophistication, refinement; all the premium traits and the good things in life. However, maybe sometimes, they also have a hooligan buried down inside them, looking to do things in a fun, mischievous way. So if you’re someone who fits this description, we suggest you check out the Mercedes-AMG S 63 E Performance.
The Mercedes-AMG S 63 E Performance comes in two guises; the standard at Rs 3.30 crore, and the exclusive Edition 1 that can be had from Rs 3.8 crore onwards (ex-showroom).
There is nothing subtle about this car; from the first glance itself, onlookers will be able to tell this is no ‘regular’ S-Class. The AMG-specific changes include a Panamericana grille, a more aggressive-looking bumper with larger air intakes, 21-inch forged alloy rims, red brake callipers, a rear diffuser, and quad tailpipes.
Under the hood, it gets a 4.0-litre twin turbo V8 powertrain coupled with a 13.1 kW battery, packing a total of 791 bhp and 145.8 kgm of torque. The AMG 9-speed automatic transmission makes its way here as well. The car gets seven driving modes (Electric, Comfort, Battery Hold, Sport, Sport+, Slippery, and Individual), and in electric mode, it claims to cover 33 km. It also packs all-wheel drive, a ‘race start’ function, rear-wheel steering, and an adaptive air suspension among other things.
Inside, the AMG-specific changes continue, as a reminder that this S-Class was made to have fun. Swathed in nappa leather, it features red contrast stitching, further laying emphasis on what its true intentions are. Carbon-fibre elements also make their presence felt here, along with AMG illuminated door sills, and AMG floor mats. These, coupled with the exterior bits are what differentiate the Edition 1 from the standard variant.
You might want to act quick, because the S 63 E Performance Edition 1 will be offered in limited numbers. Performance and luxury in the same car? This has just gotten to another level.
