The Mahindra Thar 5-door, now named the “Thar ROXX,” has been teased ahead of its debut on August 15.
Engine options for the Thar ROXX will include a 2.2-litre diesel engine delivering 174 bhp and a 2.0-litre mStallion turbo-petrol engine producing 201 bhp. Transmission choices will encompass a 6-speed manual and automatic, with all-wheel drive as standard and rear-wheel drive versions are also to be expected.
Exterior changes for the Thar ROXX include a body-colored slatted grille, C-motif LED DRLs in the new headlights, and bumpers with a silver finish. The car also showcases a new 18-inch dual-tone alloys, a longer wheelbase, and of course, two extra doors. The rear features new LED tail lamps with an inverted C-motif and possibly a new spare wheel cover.
Inside, the Thar ROXX is shown to have beige upholstery, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, a touchscreen infotainment system with community features like wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, keyless entry, push-button start, and a 360-degree camera. Safety features may include up to six airbags, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors, electronic stability control, and ADAS.
The expected starting price is around Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom).
