Audi has launched the new Audi Q8 at Rs. 1.17 crore (ex-showroom). This now flagship model expands the ‘Q’ range to nearly 6 from the Q3 to the E-tron.
In the words of Audi, “Progress is never satisfied with status quo”. Similarly, this launch is particularly momentous as it coincides with Audi achieving the significant milestone of 100,000 car sales in India, accomplished in just over fifteen years.
The new Audi Q8 is powered by a 3.0-litre TFSI engine, developing 335 bhp and 51 kgm of torque. This already beefed-up powertrain gets another! A 48V Mild Hybrid system. The car offers quite a few driving profiles to round off the driving experience with six driving modes with the last one being a customizable mode.
The Audi Q8’s exterior design remains true to Audi’s design language for the ‘Q’ series. The vehicle features a new single-frame grille with a vertical inlay design in a droplet shape, a new air intake grille and spoiler, and updated two-dimensional Audi rings on the front and rear.
What else is new? The Q8 also hosts new HD Matrix LED headlights with laser technology and dynamic turn signals. Other notable exterior features include a panoramic sunroof, frameless doors, and newly designed R21 alloy wheels in graphite grey accompanied by red brake calipers.
The interior of the Audi Q8 also remains close to Audi’s language with a dual-screen setup, with a primary 25.65 cm display and a secondary 21.84 cm screen, providing access to navigation, entertainment, and vehicle functions.
The cabin, Audi says, ‘offers a serene driving environment with advanced aeroacoustics that minimise external noise’.
The Q8 comes equipped with a Bang & Olufsen 3D sound system, which includes 17 speakers and a total output of 730 watts. The Audi Virtual Cockpit, 4-zone climate control system, and MMI Navigation Plus system with touch response, along with additional interior comforts such as wireless charging and memory seating, complete the interior ensemble.
Safety in the new Audi Q8 comes in the form of Audi pre-sense basic, which initiates preventive protection measures in case of emergency braking or handling at the limit. The Q8 also features eight airbags, an Electronic Stabilisation Program (ESP), Park Assist Plus system, and a 360-degree surround-view camera for comprehensive visibility.
