Formula 3 has officially confirmed the ten teams competing in the 2025-2027 seasons. Nine teams from the 2024 campaign will carry on, with DAMS stepping in for its first-ever appearance in Formula 3, replacing Jenzer Motorsport.

DAMS has previously made its mark in Formula 2, and this move could be an interesting expansion to Formula 3.

The teams sticking around include other familiar names: AIX Racing, ART Grand Prix, Campos Racing, Hitech Grand Prix, MP Motorsport, PREMA Racing, Rodin Motorsport, Trident, and Van Amersfoort Racing. With DAMS taking the tenth spot, Jenzer Motorsport will be stepping aside. The grid will continue to feature 30 cars, with each team running three entries for the next three years.

This selection follows the reveal of the 2025 Formula 3 car in August. The car has undergone a complete overhaul, with a focus on upcoming talent. The season is set to kick off in March 2025, alongside the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix. Fans can expect a newly designed Dallara car and an engine supplied by Mecachrome, with the good old reliability problems that plagued recent seasons, now resolved.

Trident, fresh from winning the Drivers’ Championship with Leonardo Fornaroli, will be back to defend their title, while PREMA Racing will be determined to hold on to their Teams’ Championship crown. Will that continue? I say no, it may not.

It’s shaping up to be an exciting few years for the sport, with a mix of fresh faces and established teams battling it out on track.
