Our brand-new Kia Seltos Diesel joined the fleet just a couple of weeks ago, and it has already made a strong impression. The first thing that stood out was the incredible range: after filling the tank, the fuel gauge showed an estimated range of over 800 km. It’s a reminder of why diesel cars remain so practical for long-distance driving.

After reacquainting myself with the Seltos, it’s been a while since I have driven one, and I was pleasantly surprised by its ride and handling. The suspension is a bit on the firmer side, which I prefer, and that translates to great stability at highway speeds. The diesel engine offers a refined yet robust performance, making every drive enjoyable with a slick manual transmission.

Inside, the Bose sound system deserves a special mention. It delivers crisp, clear audio, enhancing the in-car experience, whether for podcasts or music on long drives. On the flip side, the glossy interior plastics tend to collect fingerprints easily, and the built-in air purifier can be a tad noisy. However, given the rising pollution levels, having an air purifier is a thoughtful addition especially during the winter season.

The Seltos has also proven to be highly practical, doubling up as our shoot tracking car and a reliable support vehicle. Its spacious interior and thoughtful features have made it an indispensable part of our routine. With its practicality, comfort, and performance, the 2024 Kia Seltos Diesel is shaping up to be a versatile all-rounder.
