Is it any good?
The MX436 Pioneer II dual-purpose ADV helmet offers a good blend of performance, comfort, and durability. Its fairly lightweight, yet sturdy construction, featuring a Kinetic Polymer Alloy (KPA) shell, ensures protection and comfort during rides. The helmet boasts a well ventilated design, with multiple variable air intake and exhaust ports, keeping riders cool while on the move. The removable and washable interior padding adds to the overall comfort. It also features a sun visor that protects against glare, while the helmet’s enhanced noise reduction is said to offer a quieter ride. With its updated features and rugged design, the MX436 Pioneer II is a good choice for occasional off-roaders who also tour now and then. The only thing that feels out of place is the
micrometric ratchet fastener instead of a Double-D ring, as is the norm these days.
For those hardcore off-road enthusiasts, LS2 has the MX437 Fast II, which is a proper MX helmet. It features the same KPA shell construction as the Pioneer II, but sans the drop-down sun visor and the main visor, reducing the weight further. The interior is equipped with removable, washable padding, providing a fresh fit every time. This helmet does come with a Double-D ring fastener. Both the MX436 Pioneer II and MX437 Fast II are ECE 22.06, as well as ISI certified, so that’s a bonus.
