Honda Cars India has slashed the price of the Honda City e:HEV hybrid by nearly ₹1 lakh. The only hybrid sedan in the midsize segment is now priced at ₹19.90 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The City Hybrid is available in a single, fully loaded ZX variant, making it a premium choice for buyers seeking fuel efficiency with modern features.

Launched in 2022, the City Hybrid marked the return of hybrid powertrains in Honda’s India line-up. Previously, the brand had offered hybrid options with the now-discontinued Honda Civic and Accord.

Under the hood, the City e:HEV is powered by a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine operating on the fuel-efficient Atkinson cycle. It is mated to a traction motor that draws energy from a lithium-ion battery, driving the wheels. A separate motor-generator helps recharge the battery using the combustion engine. The combined output from the electric motor and petrol engine is 126 bhp and 25.79 kgm of torque, delivered to the front wheels via an eCVT gearbox.

One of the biggest highlights of the Honda City Hybrid is its impressive fuel efficiency, boasting an ARAI-rated mileage of 27.26 kmpl, making it one of the most fuel-efficient cars in its class.

Being the top-spec variant, the City Hybrid comes equipped with a host of premium features. These include all-LED headlamps, 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, a single-pane sunroof, and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also offers convenience features like a wireless charger and advanced safety tech.

Safety is another strong suit of the City Hybrid, with features such as ADAS, six airbags, ABS, ESC, EPB, traction control, and ISOFIX child seat mounts. It also includes Honda’s LaneWatch camera, which displays the blind spot view from the left ORVM directly on the infotainment screen.
