In a unique celebration of Formula 1’s 75th anniversary, the podium finishers at this year’s British Grand Prix received trophies unlike any in motorsport history – custom-built entirely from LEGO bricks. The special awards took centre stage at Silverstone, blending F1 tradition with playful innovation.

The LEGO Group crafted three distinctive trophies for the top finishers, each assembled from hundreds of interlocking bricks. This creative approach honored both F1’s rich heritage and LEGO’s reputation for imaginative design. The trophies formed part of an ongoing partnership between Formula 1 and the Danish toy company, following their viral collaboration at the Miami Grand Prix earlier this season.

At the Miami event, LEGO had already captured fans’ attention by creating 10 life-sized F1 car replicas made entirely from LEGO bricks, which paraded around the circuit before the race. The display became an instant social media sensation, setting the stage for this latest innovative trophy concept.

“We wanted to create something truly special for F1’s milestone anniversary,” said a LEGO spokesperson. “These trophies represent the perfect marriage of our brands – combining LEGO’s creativity with Formula 1’s spirit of competition and engineering excellence.”

The British Grand Prix has long been known for its unique trophy designs, having previously featured awards made from materials like carbon fiber and even silver-plated brake discs. However, the 2025 LEGO trophies marked a first in the sport’s history, delighting both drivers and fans.

Social media erupted with reactions to the unconventional awards, with many praising the inventive approach. “This might be the coolest trophy I’ve ever seen in F1,” tweeted one fan, while another noted, “Only LEGO could make grown men this excited about plastic bricks.”

The collaboration appears to be part of F1’s broader strategy to engage younger audiences and bring fresh energy to the sport. With LEGO’s global appeal and F1’s racing prestige, the partnership continues to deliver memorable moments that transcend traditional motorsport experiences.
