More from Motoring

The original Audi TT was more than a car; it was a rolling sculpture that stopped the world in its tracks. Its iconic Bauhaus-inspired design, defined by a simple circle of a cabin and minimalist curves, became an instant classic that still looks fresh today. Now, Audi has signalled the triumphant return of its beloved two-door coupe, unveiling the stunning Concept C as a direct successor to that legendary design ethos, reborn for the electric era.

Unveiled in Milan as the cornerstone of Audi’s new design manifesto, the Concept C is green-flagged for production and slated to hit the road in 2027. This low-slung, mid-engine-inspired coupe trades the TT’s gentle curves for a sharper, more radical simplicity, yet its spirit is unmistakable. Drawing inspiration from the legendary Auto Union Type C racer, the Concept C features a dramatic fastback silhouette, a removable roof, and a striking vertical design frame.

While the design language is new, the concept feels reassuringly familiar. Its sleek, screen-like headlamps, squared-off grille, and flying buttresses that eliminate the need for a rear window create a jaw-dropping profile.

Inside, the minimalist philosophy continues with a cabin crafted from recycled materials, an empty center console, and a dashboard dominated by a single screen that displayed “Charge 100%,” confirming its all-electric heart.

More than just a concept, this is a declaration of intent. The near-production-ready styling suggests the road-going version will deviate very little from this show car. As Audi embarks on its most ambitious chapter yet—with over 20 new models planned and an entry into Formula 1—the Concept C proves that the brand’s future, while electric, will be built on a foundation of unforgettable design. The iconic TT’s legacy is in safe hands.
