What is it?
The Turbo is a ludicrous electric scooter from BO — a company started by ex-Williams F1 engineers.
Why is it cool?
Ever imagined signing waivers and declaring your riding experience with superbikes to buy a ‘puny’ e-scooter? Well, the Bo Turbo is anything but a regular e-scooter. Flaunting a 24-kW dual-motor system paired to a 1.8 kWh battery, the Turbo is claimed to beat a Tesla Model 3 in a 0–100-kph sprint. In fact, the company claims the power-to-weight ratio is more than the Bugatti Veyron.
To keep things running smoothly, it features F1 derived air intakes, a ram-air cooling system, and Bo’s proprietary Safesteer setup — a clever use of torsion springs to keep the handlebar steady. The aluminium chassis does double duty, too, acting as a heat sink to keep the battery from turning into a firework.
Is it expensive?
If you were to qualify to purchase the Bo Turbo, you’ll have to shell out $ 29,500 or ₹25.47 lakh to get one. And of course, access to a race track is required, too, because Bo isn’t really keen on turning every grocery run into a land speed record attempt.
