Indian Motorcycle has launched its latest model, the 2016 year model Springfield, at Rs 30.6 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. Bookings have begun, while deliveries will begin in August this year.
The Springfield has a quick-release windshield and saddlebags, so you don’t have to worry about them on your commute. The chassis has been developed to take the extra strain that the weight of a couple of hard cases will not doubt put on it. Also on the features list are remote-locking hard bags, adjustable passenger footboards, real leather seats, ABS, tyre pressure monitoring, cruise control and a powerful headlamp with dual driving lights. Front and rear highway bars are standard and can be used to mount accessories. The accessories list includes a tall and low windshield, heated driver and passenger seats, soft lowers, a 64.3 litre accessory trunk and heated grips. Powering the Springfield is the Thunder Stroke 111 engine, that develops 14.2 kgm at just 2600 rpm.
The Springfield compares favourably with the equivalent model from the Harley-Davidson stable, the Street Glide and the CVO Limited. Watch this space for a review soon.
