Ahead of the EICMA 2022 last year, the 2023 Ducati Scrambler lineup was showcased in three different trims. Fast forward to today — Ducati has launched the 2023 Scrambler lineup, with prices starting from Rs 10.39 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Icon version, while the Nightshift and Full Throttle are both priced at Rs 12.00 lakh (ex-showroom). There seem to be no direct rivals to the Ducati Scrambler, but the Triumph Street Scrambler could perhaps be considered.
Ducati is offering the Scrambler in three different trims — Icon, Nightshade, and Full Throttle. While there are no mechanical differences among the three, the Icon and Full Throttle look more youthful with their dual-tone paint schemes, while the Nightshade looks ‘business’ with its darker themes. That said, the 2023 Ducati Scrambler retains its neo-retro appearance.
In terms of kit, you get a new 4.3-inch TFT display, two riding modes — road and wet, along with traction control, cornering ABS, and ride-by-wire.
The 2023 Ducati Scrambler is built on a new trellis frame and a bolted sub-frame, and this setup is said to be 4 kg lighter than the outgoing model. The 803cc L-twin air-cooled engine also sheds up to 2.5 kg this time, putting out 72 bhp at 8250 rpm, while 6.62 of torque comes at 7000 rpm. This engine is paired to a six-speed transmission, which can be equipped with a quickshifter optionally on the Icon and Nightshift versions, while the Full Throttle version receives it as standard. In addition to a bearing-mounted shift drum to make smoother and precise shifts, the 2023 Scrambler also gets an eight-disc clutch from the Monster.
The lighter frame is suspended on 41 mm non-adjustable USD forks from Kayaba at the front, along with a monoshock featuring preload adjustability at the rear. Both setups receive up to 150 mm of travel. The new Scrambler makes use of a 330 mm disc with radial-mount four-piston monobloc callipers at the front, along with a 245 mm disc with a single calliper at the rear to bring it to a halt.
