Ampere has unveiled its latest offering, the Ampere Nexus electric scooter. Priced at Rs. 1.09 Lakhs (ex-showroom), the Ampere Nexus is positioned as a high-performance family electric scooter, entirely conceptualized, developed, and manufactured in India.

Aside from a 3 kWh LFP battery and mid-mounted electric motor delivering 5.4bhp peak power, this scooter is further enhanced by five riding modes, front disc brakes, and an IP67 rating for its battery and electric motor. When talking about the ride itself, the scooter comes with a hybrid swing arm, twin suspension and a chassis that Ampere states is 4x stronger with Nex.Armor technology while also promoting battery health with an air-cooling focus.

For those range-anxious riders, Ampere has stated that the Nexus will come with a range of 136 km, certified by CMVR, per charge. They further state that their LFP batteries offer more life per charging cycle which is capable of fast charging in 3 hours and 22 mins to full charge. To complete the tech side, the scooter comes with a 7″ TFT touchscreen featuring SmartSense technology and a lightning-fast boot time enabled with Nex.IO™.

The Ampere Nexus is available in four colours: Zanskar Aqua, Indian Red, Lunar White, and Steel Grey, offering riders a range of visually appealing options to suit their tastes.

K. Vijaya Kumar, Executive Director & CEO of Greaves Electric Mobility Private Limited, expressed pride in the launch, stating that the Ampere Nexus marks a significant milestone in the company’s commitment to sustainable transportation. He highlighted the transition from leisurely to urban to high-speed models as a pivotal moment in the journey towards a more inclusive, sustainable future.

Order and deliveries are set to commence at over 400 dealerships Ampere across India in the second half of May 2024.
