Aprilia has geared up to launch the Tuono 457 in India, with the model now appearing on the brand’s official Indian website, hinting that the launch is just around the corner. This is the second motorcycle from Aprilia built on the 457 platform, following the RS 457.

First revealed at the 2024 EICMA Motor Show, the Tuono 457 features a compact headlamp with integrated LED DRLs, giving it a distinctive ‘bug-eyed’ appearance. The fuel tank shape is similar to the RS 457 but the fairings have been replaced by radiator shrouds for a more exposed look. The bike will be available in two colour options being Piranha Red and Puma Grey.

The Tuono 457 is equipped with USD forks and a mono-shock, both with preload adjustability. The braking system relies on disc brakes for both ends. The bike also includes a 5.0-inch TFT colour display and Aprilia’s ride-by-wire system, with three selectable riding modes for different riding styles.

The Tuono 457 is powered by the same 457cc parallel-twin engine as the RS 457, delivering 47 bhp of power and 4.4 kgm of torque. It features a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch and offers an optional bidirectional quickshifter, alongside electronic safety features like traction control, three ride modes, and ABS.

Complementing a simpler design compared to the RS 457, the Tuono 457 is expected to be priced somewhat lower than its fully-faired counterpart, which is currently priced at Rs 4.20 lakh (ex-showroom). The introduction of the Tuono 457 expands Aprilia’s lineup of performance motorcycles in India, but more importantly, poses a serious threat to the supremacy of the KTM 390 Duke in this segment.
