The Bajaj Chetak has been around for a good number of years, and this might be its first serious upgrade in a while. The Chetak Premium 2024 gets enhanced range, more features, and is available in two variants; the standard costing Rs 1.35 lakh (ex-showroom), while the fully-loaded Tecpac trim can be had for Rs 1.44 lakh (ex-showroom).
This new Chetak Premium 2024 is different from the previous version, which is now simply known as the Chetak Premium. This new version gets a larger 3.2 kWh battery pack, with a claimed range of 127 km on a single charge. It can now also reach a higher top speed of 73 kmph, which is 10 kmph more than before. What will stand out once you’re on the scooter is the new 5-inch TFT instrument cluster, along with a revised switchgear. In terms of equipment, the Chetak Premium 2024 becomes the first Bajaj to feature onboard navigation, while other features include smartphone connectivity via a dedicated app, call alerts, music streaming, hill-hold, keyless system, reverse mode, and sequential turn indicators. There are also two riding modes on offer; eco and sports, as opposed to earlier, when the Chetak would go into sports mode automatically if you wring your throttle harder.
There is not much difference between the Chetak Premium Standard and the Tecpac, save for the fact that the Standard misses out on the colour TFT and instead gets a monochrome unit, along with the lack of a sports mode, hill-hold, and sequential turn indicators.
Aesthetically, the Chetak Premium 2024 remains the same, with dark treatment around the headlight, turn indicators, and the air vent on the front apron. You can also choose from three colour schemes; hazelnut, indigo blue, and brooklyn black.
