Ducati has launched the Scrambler Cafe Racer in India at Rs 9.32 lakh, ex-showroom. Based on the Scramber but with bespoke parts like aluminium clip-on handlebars, bar-mounted rear view mirrors, Termignoni’s dual-tail-pipe exhuast system, new seat with a cover for the pillion section, etc.
Powering the bike is an 803 cc L-Twin engine that makes 72 bhp@8250 rpm and 6.8 kgm@5750 rpm. The Scrambler Cafe Racer comes with 17-inch wheels (with Pirelli Diablo Rosso II tyres: 120/17 at the front and 180/55 at the back), ABS-equipped Brembo brakes, a combination of black and gold for wheels and frame respectively (the paint is called Black Coffee), and Euro-IV-compliance for the engine.
Ducati India’s MD, Sergi Canovas Garriga said, “This motorcycle is a modern interpretation of the legendary Café Racer scene from the 1960s that triggered a motorcycling revolution. It represents the expression of free spirit and is an icon of style for enthusiasts. We’re very confident that with the Ducati Scrambler Café Racer, we will successfully bring the global cultural phenomenon to India as well.”
Like in case of the rest of the Scrambler line-up, there’s a wide range of accessories available for the bike. The standard fitment includes steel tank with interchangeable side panels, LED lights, LCD instrument panel, sports style front mudguard, side number plate, under-seat storage with USB, etc.
It has a 13.5-litre fuel tank, and weighs (dry) 172 kilos. It gets a USD front fork and a monoshock at the rear. And if all that doesn’t make you rush to the Ducati dealership yet, just have a look at the photos again!
