Hero MotoCorp has officially launched its latest entry-level electric scooter in India, the Vida VX2. The new e-scooter will be available in two variants: Vida VX2 Go and Vida VX2 Plus, offering different battery configurations and performance specs to cater to a wide range of urban riders.
Vida VX2 Price and Variants
The VX2 Go is priced at ₹99,490, while the more premium VX2 Plus comes in at ₹1.10 lakh (both ex-showroom, introductory). In a bid to make electric mobility more accessible, Hero MotoCorp has also introduced a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model for the VX2. Under this subscription model, the scooter is available at a starting price of just ₹59,490 (ex-showroom), with usage-based plans tailored to the rider’s daily commute. VIDA claims a highly economical running cost of ₹0.96 per km under this scheme.
Battery Options and Performance
The Vida VX2 is available with two removable battery pack options — a 2.2 kWh unit and a larger 3.4 kWh unit. The 2.2 kWh battery delivers a claimed IDC range of 92 km, while the 3.4 kWh battery boosts that to 142 km. The top speed for the Go variant is 70 km/h, whereas the Plus offers a higher top speed of 80 km/h.
Charging is quick and convenient: VIDA says the battery can be charged from 0 to 80 per cent in just one hour using a fast charger. A bundled portable charger, meanwhile, takes around six hours for the same.
Features and Tech of the Vida VX2
The VX2 Plus gets a 4.3-inch TFT display, while the VX2 Go features a 4.3-inch LCD screen. Both variants support smartphone integration, offering turn-by-turn navigation and other connected features. In terms of ride modes, the Go variant includes Eco and Ride modes, while the Plus adds a Sport mode for more spirited riding.
The Go, equipped with a single battery pack, offers 33.2 litres of underseat storage, while the Plus variant provides 27.2 litres, a slightly reduced capacity due to its dual battery configuration.
