Honda did what Honda does best! Well, not for India yet, but it is still rather interesting. A carbon edition for the Fireblade is very nice! And I mean nice in a very bourgeois sense, because this special edition will set you back nearly Rs. 26 lakh compared to Rs. 18 lakh for the base variant.
Funnily enough, this bike is limited to just 300 units, with nearly 70 of them allocated to France! The revolution won’t be pleased. Regardless, Honda certainly knows its way around aesthetic upgrades.
The Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP Carbon Edition’s 999cc liquid-cooled engine generates 217 BHP with a torque output of 11.7 kgm. It is quick! The bike features a six-speed gearbox with a quick shifter, cornering ABS, IMU-based traction control, engine brake control, wheelie control, and other features you would expect at this price point.
Honda calls this the ultimate ‘all-black stealth racing’ sportbike, and given its heavy inspiration from Honda’s MotoGP bike, it’s easy to see why. The side fairings, for example, feature full carbon fibre bodywork, including the fairings, mudguards, engine guards, airbox covers, and winglets.
Take a step to the side, and you’ll notice the matte finish across the body, giving it a very rare touch.
Will India get some love and attention? Well, here’s hoping. For now, this bike will remain a limited edition in the European market.
