Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has unveiled the much-anticipated ‘NX500’ adventure tourer in the Indian market. Priced at Rs 5.90 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi), the NX500 is set to captivate adventure motorcycle enthusiasts across the country.
Under the design theme of ‘Daily Crossover,’ the NX500 blends compact adventure-style usability with an imposing silhouette. Its new all-LED headlight and tail lamp contribute to a nimble impression, making it suitable for various terrains, from city blocks to gravel trails.
The adventure tourer features a new 5-inch full-color TFT screen with optical bonding for enhanced visibility in bright sunlight. Customizable display styles, including Bar, Circle & Simple, and selectable background colors (White, Black & Auto), provide a personalized experience. The NX500 offers IOS/Android smartphone connectivity through Honda RoadSync, allowing turn-by-turn navigation, calls, and music control via a Bluetooth headset.
Equipped with a backlit 4-way toggle switch on the left handlebar, the NX500 facilitates on-screen turn-by-turn navigation. Additionally, it includes an emergency stop signal feature, enhancing safety by signaling sudden braking to vehicles behind through flashing turn signals at high speed.
Powered by a 471 cc, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke DOHC engine with a parallel twin-cylinder layout, the NX500 delivers 47 bhp at 8,600rpm and 4.3 kgm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm, coupled with a 6-speed gearbox.
The NX500 incorporates an assist/slipper clutch for smooth upshifts and the elimination of rear wheel hopping during hard braking and downshifting. The switchable HSTC (Honda Selectable Torque Control) system manages rear wheel traction, providing increased peace of mind on slippery terrains.
Featuring a steel diamond-tube mainframe, the adventure tourer maintains a balance between a lightweight body and structural rigidity. It comes with Showa 41 mm SFF-BP upside-down (USD) front forks and a Pro-Link mono-suspension at the rear with a 5-stage preload adjuster for superior comfort on both on-road and off-road trails. Braking duties are handled by dual 296 mm front discs with two-piston calipers at the front and a 240 mm disc with a 1-piston caliper at the rear, with dual-channel ABS as standard.
With the launch of the NX500, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter’s commitment to innovation and delivers a motorcycle that redefines the adventure riding experience. Adventure enthusiasts can look forward to a thrilling journey across diverse terrains with the combination of cutting-edge features and Honda’s signature reliability.
Priced at Rs. 5,90,000 (ex-showroom New Delhi), the adventure tourer is now open for bookings at HMSI’s premium BigWing dealerships across India. Deliveries are set to commence from February 2024 onwards.
