For those early who pre-booked the 450X, Ather just revealed a collector’s edition called the Series 1. It will get some exclusive special touches like a custom high-gloss black paint finish with subtle accents of red and a few Series 1 decals on the sides. On top of all these changes, a special intro screen will play on its 7-inch touchscreen dashboard on start-up as well. The highlight of the Series 1 has to be the translucent panels at the rear of the scooter. Yes, you can see its cast-aluminium chassis and trellis frame through these see-through panels. The initial batches will get black panels, but around May next year, these transparent panels will be ready for production. Apart from the cosmetics, not much else is changed on the Series 1, so you can try to replicate its looks, but you probably won’t be able to recreate its see-through panels.
Powering it is a 6 kW PWSM electric motor drawing from a 2.9 kWh lithium-ion battery. In terms of numbers, the Ather 450X Series 1 is just as quick as the regular 450X, covering the 0-40 kph sprint in 3.3 seconds. This makes it the quickest scooter in its segment.
