That funky custom motorcycle isn’t from any dystopian game. It’s pretty much a real thing. Not entirely, however. Royal Enfield just unveiled it today at EICMA, calling it the SG650 Concept. This motorcycle pays homage to Royal Enfield’s abundantly rich history of custom machines. The designers retained RE’s classic design and added a few modern bits to it. With this concept, Royal Enfield is saying that it is progressing into the future, but making sure that its core DNA is intact.
There are several parts that have been individually fabricated or designed exclusively for this concept. For instance, the tank has been CNC billet machined from a solid block of aluminium. So is the case with the ABS-integrated wheel rims, bespoke designed brake callipers and dual front brake disks. The upside-down forks, integrated aluminium top yoke/nacelle unit and low rise extra-wider bars with all aluminium switch cubes. Then, you’d notice the retro bits to it with the twin rear shocks mounted to the classic chassis loop and the hand-stitched black leather floating solo seat. On the visual side of things, the dark painted 650 Twin engine and exhaust system along with the polished aluminium bits is a perfect combination of retro and future design.
To say the least, it’s one stonking beaut, don’t you think? We wonder how magnificent this concept looks in person!
