The Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 has been in the news all day, and the Indian bike maker decided to end the day with a price announcement, Royal Enfield has now launched the Shotgun 650 not long after unveiling it a month ago, with prices ranging between Rs 3.59 lakh (ex-showroom) to Rs 3.73 lakh (ex-showroom). Although primarily a bobber, you can also buy the Shotgun 650 with a rear seat.
The lineage of the Shotgun 650 can be traced back to the SG650 Concept shown a few years ago, and it is based on the same platform as the Super Meteor 650, the Interceptor, and the Continental GT 650. It is powered by the same 648 cc parallel-twin engine, delivering 46.3 bhp at 7250 rpm and 5.3 kgm of torque at 5650 rpm. This engine is mated to a six-speed transmission. The suspension system, sourced from Showa, remains intact, though the rear twin shocks now have a slightly reduced travel. The braking configuration mirrors that of the Super Meteor 650, incorporating a 320 mm front disc and a 300 mm rear disc, both equipped with dual-piston floating calipers. The seat height is set at 795 mm, 55 mm higher than the Super Meteor, and the footpegs are reportedly more centrally positioned. Notably, the fuel tank has been redesigned with a capacity of 13.8 liters, slightly smaller than its counterpart.
In terms of equipment, the Shotgun 650 receives the identical instrument cluster seen on most new Royal Enfields, along with app connectivity featuring navigation, service reminders, fluid levels and more.
The Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 can be had in four different paint schemes with varying price tags; sheet metal grey (Rs 3.59 lakh), drill green (Rs3.70 lakh), plasma blue (Rs 3.70 lakh), and stencil white (Rs 3.73 lakh, all prices ex-showroom).
