Suzuki Motorcycle India has manufactured more than 10 million two-wheelers in India from its Gurugram plant. Marking the milestone was a Suzuki Access 125, the 10 millionth unit to roll out of the plant in Haryana.
Nearly 20 years ago, Suzuki Motorcycle entered India (in 2006), and it saw huge success in the market. It took 14 years for Suzuki to manufacture 5 million two-wheelers, reaching the milestone in 2020. And just nearly 6 years from then, Suzuki has reached this latest milestone, cementing its popularity in the country.
Suzuki Motorcycle India has had a diverse portfolio ever since it came to the country. It currently has two-wheelers like the Access, Burgman, Avenis, the Gixxer lineup, the V-Strom SX 250, as well as big bikes like the GSX-8R, V-Strom 800 DE and the Hayabusa in its lineup. Suzuki says it owes its success to the Access 125 scooter, which has also been a pioneer in the 125 cc scooter segment. And Suzuki is also looking forward in terms of carbon neutrality, as it added the Gixxer SF 250 Flex Fuel variant and the e-Access to its line-up.
To support this ever-growing success, Suzuki Motorcycle India has announced a new manufacturing facility in Kharkhoda, Haryana. It’s not surprising that Suzuki Motorcycle chose this location, as it will be close to its sister company’s (Maruti Suzuki) fourth manufacturing facility, which could help Suzuki Motorcycle India logistically and strategically.
