Royal Enfield CEO Siddharth Lal sure knows how to keep things interesting when it comes to the brand and its motorcycles. Just a simple front lean shot of the Guerilla 450, and a brief caption; that was all it took! The Royal Enfield Guerilla 450 comes on July 17, and here’s a few tidbits we know about it.
You might already be aware that the Guerilla is going to share some of its mechanicals with the Himalayan. However, the 452 cc single-cylinder engine will surely be in a different state of tune. And while the disguised test models may look like a grown up Hunter, the Guerilla is going to be a lot different than that. Unlike the Scram 411 that was offered alongside the Himalayan, the Guerilla will likely be a more road-biased product, and therefore it won’t have similar levels of off-roading chops. Based on that, we can also expect the Guerilla to feature a 17-inch wheel setup on both ends. It will also continue with a monoshock at the rear, while the front will receive conventional forks this time around instead of USDs.
What’s also interesting is that the Guerilla comes with alloy rims, which also likely means tubeless tyres. However, a spoke-rimmed version should certainly not be ruled out. While most of the motorcycle remains covered in the teaser photos, the exhaust end-can, the rear section, and to some extent the fuel tank too, appear to be lifted off of the Himalayan. The instrument cluster also seems to be the same circular unit. However, Royal Enfield may have made some changes in that department, which we shall find out some days later from now.
July 17 is when the covers lift up from the Royal Enfield Guerilla 450; we know you can’t wait for it, and neither can we.
