The Honourable Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) B D Mishra, initiated an all-women bike rally to celebrate the Rajat Jayanti Mahotsav of Kargil Vijay Diwas. The rally, organised by the Indian Army, honours the courage and determination displayed during the Kargil War. The flag-off ceremony took place at the Hall of Fame in Leh, attended by Lieutenant General Hitesh Bhalla, General Officer Commanding the Fire & Fury Corps, and Vimal Sumbly, Head of Business – Premium at TVS Motor Company.

The rally features 25 experienced women riders, including serving members of the Armed Forces, military spouses, and civil enthusiasts from across India. Riding TVS Apache and TVS Ronin motorcycles, these participants aim to honour the spirit of Kargil Vijay Diwas and promote cultural and ethnic unity. Over 12 days, the riders will cover 2,000 km across Ladakh, paying homage at war memorials and navigating the challenging terrain, including the Khardung La and Umling La passes, before concluding at the Kargil War Memorial.

Vimal Sumbly expressed pride in the collaboration with the Indian Army and confidence in the motorcycles’ performance on such a demanding route. He extended his best wishes for the expedition, highlighting the strong community of TVS Apache and TVS Ronin riders.
