TVS Motor Company has launched its flagship motorcycle, the full-faired TVS Apache RR 310 in India at Rs 2.05 lakh, ex-showroom. The motorcycle has been long awaited since it was first unveiled at the 2016 Auto Expo. Designed in-house by the TVS design and engineering team, the Apache RR 310 is the first production motorcycle from TVS to feature a complete fairing.
The Apache RR 310 shares its underpinnings with the BMW G 310 R which is the product of a joint venture between BMW Motorrad and TVS. It uses the same 312.2cc single-cylinder, reverse-inclined motor from the G 310 R. The motor has been tuned to produce 33.5bhp@9700rpm and 2.78kgm@7700rpm and comes paired with a 6-speed gearbox. The motorcycle several noteworthy cycle parts such the 300mm disc with radial caliper at the front and a 240mm disc at the rear with dual-channel ABS as standard fitment, USD forks up front and a gas-filled monoshock for the rear and 17-inch wheels shod with Michelin tyres (110/70-R17 at the front and 150/60-R17 at the rear).
On the equipment list, the Apache RR 310 comes with a long list of features which consist of the all-digital instrument console with track-related features like lap timing and top speed, like the one seen on the Apache RTR 200 4V. It gets a bi-LED projector headlamp and LED taillamp as well.
The Apache RR 310 falls in the entry-level performance segment of motorcycles and will face direct competition from the Mahindra Mojo, KTM 250 Duke, KTM RC 390 and the Benelli 302 R.
