TVS might have surprised everyone with the Apache RR 310 but has the vanilla RTR been ignored? The company’s latest launch will certainly quash any such beliefs. The new TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Race Edition 2.0 (quite a name) not only gets an updated styling, it also becomes the first motorcycle in the segment to be offered with a slipper clutch.
An Anti-Reverse Torque Slipper Clutch has been included on the new RTR Race Edition 2.0, and TVS claims a 22 per cent reduction in clutch force enabling quicker upshifts and thus faster lap times. It also increases the overall stability of the motorcycle while cornering and further reduces wheel-hopping, mentions the company.
The engine remains unchanged, a 197.5 cc single cylinder unit which makes 20.2 bhp (carburettor)/20.71 (fuel injection), and comes mated to a five-speed gearbox. Prices for the Race Edition 2.0 are: Rs 95,185 for the carburettor-equipped version, Rs 107,885 for the EFI, and Rs 108,985 for the ABS-equipped carburetted variant.

The new graphics add a bit more personality to the bike, while the new logo, as seen on the RR 310, makes the Race Edition 2.0 a bit more unique. The little fly screen mounted atop the headlamp looks good, too.
