Ultraviolette Automotive showcased the production-spec F77 electric motorcycle during its first Battery Day event, held at its production facility in Bangalore. It further announced an industry-leading IDC range of 300 km on a single charge on the top-end variant of the F77.
The Bangalore-based start-up claims to have made multiple upgrades to the battery architecture since the bike was first unveiled in 2019. Unlike the Gen1 battery pack, the new unit is fixed, gets an aluminium casing and weighs 50 kg.
Ultraviolette dedicated the last two years to propagating the F77’s research and development. It moved to a larger, integrated battery architecture and switched from an 18,650 to a 21,700 format, resulting in significantly higher volume optimisation. The Gen2 F77 comes with a higher battery capacity than existing EV two-wheelers in India.
The Ultraviolette F77 has gone through a rigorous test regime, including extensive simulation, dyno and on-road testing, power cycling, and extreme off-road testing. The F77’s battery has also been put through accelerated ageing and thermal stress testing. The company also announced that pre-bookings open on October 23, while the official launch will be held on November 24. It aims to deliver the first bikes by the end of this year.
