It’s about time that Yamaha gave the Indian market a taste of its very own maxi-sports scooter, the Aerox 155, after neglecting it for ages. This 126-kg performance scooter produces 15 bhp and 1.41 kgm from its 155cc single-cylinder engine that’s nicked straight out of the R15. That’s where all the performance comes from!
For Rs 1.29 lakh (ex-showroom), the Aerox 155, also offers plenty of handy features like a dedicated 25-litre underseat storage, a charging socket, Bluetooth connectivity, a digital instrument cluster, and LED lighting among others. In addition to this, the equipment list consists of telescopic front forks, dual pitch springs, 14-inch alloy wheels with a 140-section rear tyre and a 230-mm disc brake along with ABS at the front.
As far as its design is concerned, the maxi-scooter does have a sporty element to it. For instance, it features a twin-pod headlight setup, split-style footboard, body-coloured alloys and a step-up seat. Besides that, there are quite a few handy adds on like Bluetooth connectivity, an external fuel lid and a front pocket. The Aerox 155 is available in three colours: Racing Blue, Grey Vermillion and Monster Energy Moto GP Edition. Its closest rival is the Aprilia SXR 160 that we rode in the recent past. Whether the Aerox 155 triumphs over its competitor on road, we can only tell when we ride it. Stay tuned for our full review of the Yamaha Aerox 155!
