Honda has officially unveiled a facelifted version of the City midsize saloon in Thailand. Reportedly caught in India during what looks like an advert shoot, the car is expected to go on sale here soon. The mid-life update freshens the City up without unnecessarily reinventing the wheel — ‘if it ain’t broke, why fix it’ and all that…
Up front there’s a Civic-like fascia, with new bumper, grille design (complete with a chrome applique extending into the headlamps), and LED headlamps equipped with DRLs. The changes are complemented by a new bumper at the rear and refreshed taillamps. The Thailand-bound model also sports new 16-inch alloys, which are likely to make it to India as well, given the car spotted here sported the same units.
On the inside, the dashboard gets a mix of black and gun metal. The layout design hasn’t changed from the current car, and it still boasts good-looking gloss black bits, and a touchscreen infotainment unit positioned right in the centre. Engine options aren’t changed, either, but we aren’t giving up on the hope of seeing the BR-V-sourced six-speed manual for the petrol engined variant.
Also unveiled today is the Mobilio facelift. You can read more about it here.
