Amidst SUVs and sports coupes, if you thought Jaguar had forgotten about its saloons, you would be wrong. The company has just announced a slew of updates for its flagship saloon, the 2018 Jaguar XJ.
The XJ now gets Forward Traffic Detection, AEB, Lane Keep Assist, Driver Condition Monitoring, etc. Apart from that, there’s a new infotainment system — with 4G Wi-Fi connectivity and a larger 10-inch touchscreen.
The range-topping XJR is now called XJR575, comes with a 5.0-litre V8 supercharged engine now uprated to the 575 PS (hence the name; 567 bhp), and can manage 0-100 kph in 4.4 seconds, and a top speed of 300 kph. It comes with a range of bespoke (and exclusive to XJR575) features including 20-inch wheels, red brake callipers, two special colour choices (Velocity Blue and Satin Corris Grey), diamond-quilted seating, etc.
The 2018 XJ can be ordered in the UK, while an Indian arrival is yet to be confirmed.
