At the Monterey Car Week, there’s nostalgia kicking in. This 2022 Ford GT Heritage Edition supercar pays tribute to the original 1964 Ford GT prototype. Featuring a few modern touches of its own, the Heritage Edition sports a Wimbledon White paint with Antimatter Blue graphics, exposed carbon fibre wheels, a triple racing stripe, among many other things. It sits pretty alongside the ’64 prototype which, by the way, is still wearing the original livery. Isn’t that a sight to behold?
Further, the Heritage edition is spot on with attention to detail. You’ll find carbon fibre on the front splitter, side sills, mirror stalks, rear diffuser and engine louvres. The Brembo brake callipers are coated in silver with black graphics along with black lug nuts.
Take a peek inside, guess what? You’ll find there’s carbon fibre on the doorsills, lower A-pillars and the centre console. Its carbon fibre seats are wrapped in Lightspeed Blue Alcantara and the same pattern follows on the dashboard. However, the steering wheel and the headliner are wrapped in Ebony Alcantara.
We have no official word on how many examples of this special edition will be on sale. But for now, if you happen to be at the Monterey Car Week don’t forget to stop by and check the Ford GTs out. We bet you’d not be disappointed.
