That’s a lovely sketch of the facelifted 2022 Hyundai Creta and the production version will make its first public appearance next month at the Indonesia Motor Show.
That updated face looks quite similar to the one on the new-generation Tucson and that’s because it does take inspiration from it (we quite like it, actually). The Parametric Jewel Grille neatly integrates the DRLs and the lights, and they really look stunning, to say the least. Plus, you can see the new diamond-cut alloys on them along with side cladding and a faux skid plate.
Inside, the design hasn’t changed that much from the current generation and Hyundai’s keep some information reserved for later. But, there’s nothing extraordinary that we can spot from the interior photos yet.
It will likely be powered by the same powertrain options: two petrol engines and a diesel. First up is a 1.5-litre petrol engine which makes 113 bhp and 14.7 kgm. It’s available with either a 6-speed manual transmission or an IVT. The second is a 1.5-litre diesel engine that makes a healthy 113 bhp and 25.5 kgm available in a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter auto ‘box. Lastly, the 138-bhp 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine is the most powerful of the lot. It produces a decent 24.7 kgm of torque and is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
It will first be produced in the Indonesian market and then by next year, it will come to our shores. In the meantime, we’ll wait for the official photos of the production version.
