The Land Rover Discovery has been carrying on silently for quite long, and the British car maker has given it an update for 2024. The new Discovery retains the same set of petrol and diesel powertrains, but it receives a larger infotainment screen, easier connectivity for your smartphone and cosmetic changes to make it look fresher.
On the outside, the 2024 Land Rover Discovery gets changes that are subtle, but nonetheless noticeable. Apart from the addition of a new varesine blue paint scheme, components such as the grille, lower body sills, lower bumpers, and the Discovery badging now receive a gloss black finish. The front bumper and wheel arches further receive a claw-detailing, and the 19-inch alloy wheels receive a diamond turned finish.
Step in, and you will find a redesigned centre console, housing a newer, slightly larger 11.4-inch Pivi Pro infotainment system, which allows wireless Apple CarPlay connectivity, and also features permanently accessible side-bars consisting of shortcuts to various functions. The 2024 Discovery also gets a new gear selector lever, a 360-degree camera, two USB-C type charging ports in each row, and if you’re used to sitting in the third row, fret not, because the Discovery now also gets three-zone climate control as well.
The powertrains on the 2024 Land Rover Discovery remain unchanged from the BS6 update; the 2.0-litre petrol producing 245 bhp and 37.2 kgm of torque, while the 2.0-litre diesel packs 201 bhp and 43.8 kgm of torque.
With prices starting from Rs 67.90 lakh (ex-showroom), the Land Rover Discovery makes for a compelling choice against the likes of the Audi Q5, BMW X3, Mercedes-Benz GLC, and the Volvo XC60.
