It seems like Christmas came early for Porsche fans. The 2025 Porsche 911 Carrera lineup has arrived merely days after its global unveil, and before you ask, yes it includes the new hybrid as well! The base 911 Carrera can be yours from Rs 1.98 crore, while the hybrid, i.e the 911 Carrera 4 GTS comes in at Rs 2.75 crore (all prices ex-showroom).
We’re certain you want to hear about the hybrid first, but be warned, this is a self-charging unit that focuses more on delivering performance. The 3.6-litre powertrain gets a dual electric motor setup, one placed in the new turbocharger, which also acts as a generator for the new 1.9 kWh battery, and the other on the 8-speed PDK transmission. Together, this setup produces a combined output of 533 bhp and 62.20 kgm of torque, which is 60.3 bhp more than the outgoing GTS. It also reaches triple figures in just 3 seconds, while maxing out at 312 kph. More details about this hybrid system can be found here.
At the front, you’ll notice the 911 Carrera 4 GTS gets redesigned bumpers with active vertical aerodynamic flaps, along with radars and sensors below the number plate. At the rear, there is a redesigned light strip, diffuser, and GTS-specific exhaust systems. Rear-axle steering, adaptive dampers, and a 10 mm lower ride height round things off for the GTS.
The base Carrera retains the 3.0-litre twin-turbo boxer engine, which now borrows the intercooler from the 911 Turbo, and the larger turbochargers from the outgoing GTS models. This one produces 388 bhp and 45.88 kgm of torque, while reaching the ton in just 4.1 seconds.
What would be your pick out of the two; the base 911 Carrera, or the GTS?
