We have our first launch of the year already and it’s coming from the Ingolstadt, Germany-based company. Yes, Audi is repeating tradition from last year when it launched the Q8 in January. This time, it is the A4 that’s getting a much-needed update. It’s the second facelift that is launched in India. We have also been assured that this year Audi will be launching its much-awaited electric SUV — the Audi e-tron.
Coming to the A4, the facelift features a new front end, obviously, with a full-LED lighting setup. It now sits on 17-inch alloy wheels. Inside, there’s a plethora of tech that comes on board. For instance, it features a 25.65-cm touch screen infotainment system, cruise control, 3-zone climate control, electronically adjustable front seats and eight airbags. These features are available on the Premium Plus variant, while the Technology variant gets virtual cockpit, park assist, MMI navigation, wireless charging, and driver’s seat with memory package, among other features.
Powering the A4 is a new 2.0-litre unit making 187 bhp and 32.6 kgm of torque. This does not feature Audi’s quattro system, so the power is sent to the front wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox. This unit is far more powerful than the 1.4-litre engine that it replaced. Naturally, it covers 0-100 kph in under 7.3 seconds, which is faster than before.
The A4 is available in five colour options and can be specced in two trims. Its Premium Plus trim is priced at Rs 42.34 lakh, ex-showroom, while the Technology trim is priced at Rs 46.67 lakh, ex-showroom. Along with that, you get a four-year comprehensive service package that also includes extended warranty and roadside assistance.
