Arjun Maini etched his name in motorsport history by becoming the first Indian to secure pole position in the DTM Red Bull Ring race held last weekend.
The Mercedes-AMG driver showcased his skills during qualifying session 1, clocking the fastest time of 1:30.128 minutes on his final lap.
In race 1, Maini maintained his momentum, securing a third-place finish behind Mirko Bortolotti and Maro Engel. Despite radio issues that initially hindered his awareness of the results, Maini’s performance was undeniably brilliant.
However, in qualifiers 2, Maini couldn’t replicate his initial brilliance, settling for an eighth-place finish, just 0.5 seconds behind pole-sitter Rast.
Maini’s battle for third place with Van Der Linde and Guven was a thrilling spectacle, with the three drivers pushing each other to the limit. Maini, however, didn’t complete his mandatory pit stop until the end of the pit window, allowing him to maintain his position.
Arjun Maini secured another third-place finish in the second race, completing his campaign at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, Austria, with a strong showing.
