It’s been almost three years since Audi revealed the Q8 facelift globally, and almost two years since it was launched in India. After bringing the Q8 facelift and the RSQ8 facelift, Audi India has now launched the SQ8 facelift in the country. The SQ8 facelift is priced at Rs 1.78 Crore (ex-showroom). Bookings began earlier this month for a token amount of Rs 5 lakh.

The new Audi SQ8 is powered by the same 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 as the RSQ8 Performance, but in a lower state of tune. It churns out 500 bhp and 78.5 kgm, and power is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission. Audi is claiming a 0-100 kph time of 4.1 seconds, which is 0.5 seconds slower than the RSQ8. The SQ8 has an electronically-limited top speed of 250 kph, while the RSQ8 Performance is limited to 305 kph.

The SQ8 comes with a lot of chrome and silver accents, unlike the RSQ8 Performance. It comes with a silver grille surround and silver accents in the air vents in the front bumper. Speaking of which, it is less aggressive than in the RSQ8 but still looks quite sporty. The silver accents continue in the rear bumper too, right above the diffuser.

Inside, the SQ8 is quite similar to the other Q8 variants. It gets a 10.1-inch infotainment, an 8.5-inch touchscreen for the HVAC and a 12.3-inch digital cockpit for the driver. Other features include a Bang & Olufsen audio system, multi-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, powered front seats with ventilation, heating and massaging functions, and more.
