It was not long ago when BMW had introduced the petrol variant of the 2 Series Gran Coupe in the fully-loaded M Sport version at an introductory price of Rs 40.9 lakh, ex-showroom. Now, BMW has introduced an entry-level variant, the 220i Sport which is priced at Rs 37.9 lakh, ex-showroom.
The 220i Sport features the same 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that churns out 188 bhp and 28.55 kgm of torque. All that power is sent to the front wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. It does 0-100 kph in 7.1 seconds. You can check out our review of the 220d by clicking here.
Since this is an entry-level 2 Series, you miss out on the M badges and the plush ‘Walknappa’ leather, but what you get is still premium. You get analogue dials flanking a 5.1-inch digital display, an 8.8-inch centre infotainment display with touch functionality, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a parking assistant feature. Of course, you still get the steering wheel wrapped in leather, a panoramic sunroof, and much more. Stay tuned to read our review of the BMW 220i.
